What your customers look for on your website

Do you do interior or exterior work?
Each service a swatch on the colour card, with its name, a short explanation and the price.
What does it cost per m²?
Prices per m², per hour or from: exactly as you give them.
What does your work look like?
Your own photos in a calm grid, once you add at least two.
Can I ask for a quote?
With the quote form your customer describes the work in two steps. You read the requests in your account.

What’s on your painting website

Top to bottom, as in the example of Brush & Sons Painters. A block you leave empty stays off, and with up to five pages your services, the part about you and contact each get a page of their own.

At the top
In the example, “Windows that will last for years again”: your name, what you do and one button to fill in the form.
Services and prices
Each service on its own line with the price you set; the example has 6 lines, such as ‘Exterior windows’, ‘House fronts and fascias’ and ‘Front door gloss’.
Booking
Only with Online booking: customers pick a service such as ‘Exterior windows’, a day and a time themselves; you set how long each service takes in your account, where the calendar is too.
Photos
Photos of your own work, only if you upload at least 2.
About you
In the example, “A steady crew from Dublin”: who you are and how you work, with your own photo if you have one.
Reviews
Only reviews from your own customers that you add yourself; without reviews this block stays off.
Where you work
The places you cover, one by one; the example has 7: Dublin 8, Kilmainham, Inchicore, Rialto and more.
Request a quote
Only with the quote form and inbox: customers fill in ‘Type of work’, ‘Address of the job’ and ‘Preferred start date’, and each request lands in the inbox in your account.
Contact
In the example, “Ask for a quote”: call, WhatsApp and email, and your address with a directions link if you show it.

One price a year. Domain and hosting included.

First year €67.76 incl. VAT (€56 excl. VAT), then €43.56 a year (€36 excl. VAT). You only pay once you’ve seen your website and approved it. Want to stop? Your domain name stays yours and you can download your website as a zip. The domain name: a new one (.eu, .com, .nl, .be, .fr or .at) registered in your name, or one you already own.

Questions from painters and decorators

How do quote requests come in?

Through the quote form on your website. Your customer describes what needs painting, inside or out, and roughly how big it is. Every request lands in the inbox in your account and you get an email. The form costs €18.15 to set up and €29.04 a year, incl. VAT (it comes with the Tradesman package). Without the form, customers simply call, message or email you.

Can I show a price per m²?

Yes. For each service you choose whether the price is per m², per hour or per job, and whether it’s a “from” price.

Are the colours on the colour card mine?

No. They are example colours from the RAL chart, with their code and name, and the card says so. You choose the colour of your buttons and headings yourself.

I don’t have good photos of my work yet

Then you start without: the block with your work only appears from two photos of your own. Until then a fitting photo from my library sits at the top. You add photos later in your account.

Will customers find me when they search for a painter?

Your website runs on your own domain name, Google can read it, and the code says what kind of business you are, your address if you show it, your hours and the places you cover. When someone searches “painter and decorator near me”, Google often shows businesses on the map first; for that you need a free Google Business Profile. Your account has a short checklist to set it up and to ask customers for a review. Nobody can promise you a top spot, and I won’t either.

How much does a website cost for a painter and decorator?

Website, 1 page: €67.76 the first year, then €43.56 a year, incl. VAT. Your services as swatches, your price per m² and the places you cover on one page. Website, 1 page, with quote form and inbox: €114.95 the first year, then €72.60 a year. A request with inside or outside, roughly how many m² and photos, so you can quote. Tradesman: up to 5 pages with quote form and inbox: €143.99 the first year, then €72.60 a year. Interior, exterior, your own work and contact each on a page of their own, with the quote form on them. The first year covers making your website, hosting, https and the domain name (a new one in your name, or your own); the years after cover hosting, the domain name and the add-ons you keep. Excl. VAT, that’s €56, then €36 a year.

How soon is my website online?

You see it while you fill in your details, on a computer and on a phone; the copy is written in about half a minute. Once you approve it and pay, it goes online straight away. Then I check it myself, within one working day. If the system flags something, I check first and the site goes online after that. Already have a domain name? Your website runs on it as soon as you’ve set the DNS records at your registrar; you get an email when it’s ready.
