What readers look for on an author’s website
Readers who finish a book look up the person who wrote it: what else have you written, who are you, and can they invite you to a reading? Your site gives your books one line each, tells your story in the first person, and lets anyone write to you from the bottom of the page.
- What have you written?
- Your books, one line each, in the order you choose: a title and a few words, the year if you like. A price only shows if you type it.
- What do the books look like?
- Photos of your covers or of you at a signing, as many as 24 in the gallery, each with your caption. Only images you may show: a publisher’s cover needs its consent.
- Who is the writer?
- A short part about you in your own voice. Publishers, prizes or sales figures you don’t give us never appear.
- Can I invite you?
- Schools, libraries and book clubs write to you through the message form, or by the email address on the page. Every message reaches your inbox.
Questions from authors
Can readers buy my books on the site?
No. There is no shop, no buy buttons and no payments on your site. Say in a book’s line where it is sold, in your own words, and readers find it there.
Can readers sign up for a newsletter?
Not on this site: there is no sign-up list. Readers can send you a message, and you answer from your own email.
A new book is coming out. Can I add it myself?
Yes, in your account: a new line, a new cover photo, a changed caption. Your changes are live straight away, without waiting for us.
I publish my own books. Do I order as a business?
If you sell your books as a business, choose that at checkout and you see the prices without VAT. The site reads the same either way: about you and your books, without sales talk.
One price a year. Domain and hosting included.
First year €67.76 incl. VAT (€56 excl. VAT), then €43.56 a year (€36 excl. VAT). You only pay once you’ve seen your website and approved it. Want to stop? Your domain name stays yours and you can download your website as a zip. The domain name: a new one (.eu, .com, .nl, .be, .fr or .at) registered in your name, or one you already own.
Why it costs less
No agency hours and no surprises. This is where the price difference comes from, and what you can check yourself.
Designs made in advance
Each design is built once, for a wedding, a club or a portfolio. You fill in your details instead of paying for a designer’s hours.
AI writes, I check
AI drafts the text from what you tell it. I check every new website myself, within one working day after it goes online.
You pay after you’ve seen it
You see your own website first and only pay once you approve it.
Nothing locked in
Your domain name is registered in your name, and you can download your whole website as a zip file at any time.
