What people look for on a photographer’s website

People choosing a photographer look at the work first: is this the style I’m after? Then they want to know who you are and how to reach you. Your site lays out your own photos as prints, each with the caption you type, and tells your story in the first person. A stock photo or anyone else’s picture never goes on it.

What does your work look like?
Your own photos as a spread of prints, from 2 up to 24, each captioned with what’s in it, in your words. One photo can also sit at the top beside your name, and one beside the part about you.
What do you shoot?
What you do, a few words per line: portraits, weddings, products. It sits on a contact sheet with the first one circled, like a pick on a proof sheet. Add a price and it shows.
Who is behind the camera?
A part about you in the first person, with your town and since when you’ve been shooting, if you type them. Clients, publications or awards you don’t mention are never made up.
How do I get in touch?
At the bottom, a message form or your email address set large, and if you like your phone or WhatsApp. Messages reach you by email.

Questions from photographers

How do my photos get on the site?

You add them yourself: while you build it, under "Add your own photos" (you sign in with your email address for that), or later in your account under Photos. For each photo you choose where it goes: at the top, beside the part about you, or in the gallery. When you upload, you confirm you hold the rights and that people who can be recognised agreed.

Are my photos shown at full size?

No. To keep your site fast, each photo becomes web versions up to 1600 pixels wide, and the data inside the file is removed, such as where it was taken and any copyright line. We don’t keep the original, so keep your own files. A file can be up to 15 MB: JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC.

Can clients collect their photos or order prints?

No. There are no private client galleries, no downloads and no print sales, and nobody pays through your site. It shows your work and how to reach you; you deliver photos the way you do now.

I’m a professional photographer. Do I order as a business?

Yes, you choose that at checkout, and the prices excluding VAT show there too. The design is the same as for someone who shoots for fun: the words are about you and your work, in the first person, without sales talk.

Can people book a shoot?

If you already use an online calendar, such as Calendly, we put the link on your site at no extra cost. While you build your site you can also add Online booking: people then pick a day and a time themselves. Paying in advance through your site isn’t possible.

One price a year. Domain and hosting included.

First year €67.76 incl. VAT (€56 excl. VAT), then €43.56 a year (€36 excl. VAT). You only pay once you’ve seen your website and approved it. Want to stop? Your domain name stays yours and you can download your website as a zip. The domain name: a new one (.eu, .com, .nl, .be, .fr or .at) registered in your name, or one you already own.

Each design is built once, for a wedding, a club or a portfolio. You fill in your details instead of paying for a designer’s hours.

AI drafts the text from what you tell it. I check every new website myself, within one working day after it goes online.

You pay after you’ve seen it

You see your own website first and only pay once you approve it.

Nothing locked in

Your domain name is registered in your name, and you can download your whole website as a zip file at any time.
