What clients look for on a designer’s site

A client choosing a designer scrolls the work before anything else: logos, posters, packaging, layouts. Then the question is whether you do what they need and how to brief you. Your site lays out images of your own work with the captions you type, lists what you design, and ends with a way to write to you.

Show me your work
Images of your own work in the gallery, 2 to 24 of them, each with a caption you write: “Poster for a jazz night”, “Label for a cider”. Your best piece can also stand at the top.
Do you do branding, print or packaging?
What you design, one line each, on a contact sheet with the first one circled. A rate shows only where you type one.
Who would I be working with?
A few lines about you in the first person: where you’re based and how you like to work. Client names, awards or years in the trade appear only if you type them.
How do I brief you?
At the bottom, a message form or your email address set large. A brief lands in your inbox, and you take it from there.

Questions from graphic designers

Which files can I upload?

Images: JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 15 MB each and at least 800 pixels on the long side. Export your PDFs and artboards as images first. When you upload, you confirm you may show the work, so leave out anything a client asked you to keep private.

Can I write a case study for each project?

Not as separate pages: the portfolio design is one page. Each image gets a caption, and your services and the part about you carry the rest. Keep a longer story for when a client writes to you.

I freelance. Do I order as a business?

You choose at checkout; as a business you see the prices without VAT there too. Your site still speaks for you as one person, in plain words.

Can my site run on my own name?

Yes: a domain in your name comes with the yearly price, a new one or one you already own. Your work then sits at an address you can put on your CV and your invoices.

One price a year. Domain and hosting included.

First year €67.76 incl. VAT (€56 excl. VAT), then €43.56 a year (€36 excl. VAT). You only pay once you’ve seen your website and approved it. Want to stop? Your domain name stays yours and you can download your website as a zip. The domain name: a new one (.eu, .com, .nl, .be, .fr or .at) registered in your name, or one you already own.

Why it costs less

No agency hours and no surprises. This is where the price difference comes from, and what you can check yourself.

Designs made in advance

Each design is built once, for a wedding, a club or a portfolio. You fill in your details instead of paying for a designer’s hours.

AI writes, I check

AI drafts the text from what you tell it. I check every new website myself, within one working day after it goes online.

You pay after you’ve seen it

You see your own website first and only pay once you approve it.

Nothing locked in

Your domain name is registered in your name, and you can download your whole website as a zip file at any time.
