Tape first, then plaster

since 2009

Limestone Plastering has been skimming walls and ceilings in Cork since 2009. There are two of us, working in lived-in homes and new builds.

Before we start we tape floors, windows and sockets. After plastering we tidy up and tell you how long the wall needs to dry before you paint.

What customers say

  • Everything taped before they started, and the living room was ready to paint in two days.

    Yvonne, Douglas
  • He measured up first and the price per square metre was on paper straight away. Paid exactly that.

    Rory and Fatima, Blarney
  • The ceiling of our seventies house is perfectly flat now. Not a speck of dust in the rest of the house.

    Maeve, Glanmire

Questions we often get

How long does a plastered wall need to dry?

Allow about a week per millimetre of plaster, with a window open a crack. The wall is dry when it’s the same light colour all over.

What’s the difference between ready to paper and ready to paint?

Ready to paper is flat, but small marks are fine; they disappear under the paper. Ready to paint gets one smoother coat, so the wall can be painted straight away.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Empty the room as much as you can and strip the old wallpaper. Taping and covering is our job.
