About Jack

since 2016

I’m Jack Burke, a carpenter by trade. Since 2016 I’ve been doing the jobs in Kilkenny and the villages around that no builder will come out for.

The van has what an ordinary job needs, from wall plugs to a jigsaw. You pay by the hour, and you know roughly what it’ll come to beforehand.

What customers say

  • My whole list in one morning: the hall light, the shed lock and the toilet door that had been sticking for years.

    Mary, Kilkenny
  • Sent a photo of the sealant, a price the same evening. Done by Thursday.

    Henry and Rita, Callan
  • Three wardrobes put up and the skirting done. He tidied up himself and took the rubbish away.

    Siobhán, Thomastown

Questions

What does a job cost?

The hourly rate and the call-out charge are in the list. Send a photo of the job and you’ll get an estimate of the time first.

Do you bring materials?

Screws, plugs, sealant and other small bits are in the van. A new door or light you buy yourself, or I pick it up and charge it separately.

Do you work on boilers or gas pipes?

No. For that you need a registered gas installer. The jobs around it, like a boxing-in or a skirting board, I’m happy to do.
