A club for anyone who loves the game, from beginner to seasoned player. Come and play an evening; we have plenty of boards.

What is on our board through the season.
Club night
Every Tuesday from half seven: casual games, going over them together and tea at the bar.

One game a week against someone of about your own strength, with clocks and score sheets.
Junior chess
On Saturday mornings children from seven learn the moves, and then the tricks.
Lessons for beginners
Six evenings in spring, from the first moves to a whole game.
Blitz
The last Tuesday of the month: five minutes on the clock, as many games as you like.

About Corrib Chess Club
We have played chess in Galway since 1952, these days in the community hall on Example Street. On Tuesday evenings the boards are set up, the clocks are in the cupboard and the tea is hot.
You don’t have to be strong. If you know the moves you can play a game straight away; if you don’t, you learn them with us. Just drop in and play an evening before you join.
